FS Designer Highlight: Brenda Molina

Sketchalappoza 11 started off with a bang yesterday and it is not to late for you to join in the fun!

The last class designer that I am introducing you too is a long time friend of Feeling Scrappy. Brenda Molina has shared her talents with us both as a participant in our classes and a designer. We are lucky to have her!

Brenda Molina

I was reluctant to get into scrapbooking thinking it would suck me in. It's one of the very few things I've predicted about my life that was entirely accurate. I started out with Creative Memories in 2002, and then branched out slowly. Attending many scrapbook retreats and seeing what everyone else was doing - not to mention the field trips to local scrapbook stores - broke me of my CM-only requirement. I started digitally scrapbooking in 2007. Prior to that, I'd been pretty up-to-date with my picture printing, so anything already printed at that time still gets scrapped traditionally. Anything since about mid 2007 gets scrapped digitally.

I've been married for 21 years and have a 18 year old boy, Isaac, and a 16 year old girl, Sarah. I've been a stay-at-home mom since Isaac was a year old, which was one of those things I've predicted about my life that was entirely NOT accurate. I started back to work January 2013 and am loving it. We moved from Naperville, IL to Tampa, FL in 2005, and we currently plan to stay here forever.

FS Designer Highlight: Melissa Marti

Sketchapalooza 11 starts tomorrow! I am excited to introduce you to another designer today! Melissa Marti designed our Storybook Creator templates for our last class and is joining in this class as a regular designer in addition to doing the templates. We are lucky to have this talented lady join us for Sketchapalooza 11! :)

Melissa Marti

Hey! I'm Melissa Marti - a small-town Midwest girl. I was a high school math/English teacher in a former life (pre-kids), but now stay home with my three littles (5, 3, 1) and enjoy time with them, scrapping/designing templates, and I'm a consultant with Creative Memories, too. I'm the wife of a dairy farmer, so our lives pretty much revolve around the cows' schedules and the weather. ;) My kids love being outside playing with the cows, farm cats, dirt, and all the other good stuff that comes with living out in the country. It makes for some great photos!!

If you like my sketches/layouts, check me out on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/To-Be-Remembered-Scrapbooks-Melissa-Marti-Creative-Memories-Consultant/173364509365538?fref=ts (not a nice, easy web address - sorry!) On my FB page I host speed scraps every Sunday night, post video tutorials on Tutorial Tuesday, give away fan freebies (usually templates), link to great freebie kits, and more!

FS Designer Highlight: Julie Schmehl

We are gearing up for our next class - Sketchapalooza 11! The sketches are all ready to go and our designers are busy creating beautiful samples and digital templates for each and every sketch. It's time to introduce you to our designers. I will be highlighting each one here over the next few posts. First up is Julie Schmehl.

Julie is just like her pages - cheerful, fun, colorful and friendly. I am so excited that she will be designing for this class and who knows - maybe we can persuade her to do another one! :)
Julie Schmehl

Hi, I'm Julie! I'm from Eastern Pennsylvania and lived here all my life with the exception of a one year journey to live in Las Vegas. My first foray into scrapbooking was in 1996 at a friends Creative Memories party. I remember saying to the consultant, "I cannot cut my pictures". Well, fast forward many years and now I cut people and objects out of pictures to use as a focal point. I love color and paper which is evident in my scrapbooking style which I would say is fun, funky and whimsical. I recently started dabbling with digital scrapbooking but definitely prefer "cutting and pasting" with traditional paper scrapbooking as I find it relaxing. I have a Bachelors degree in Interior Design which definitely shows in my scrapbooking with the use of color and patterns. When I'm not scrapping you will find me working in the financial industry writing and developing instructor-led and eLearning training for three call centers. Lastly, I love Kermit the Frog who tends to show up in my pictures and scrapbooks pages. I look forward to designing for you and seeing everyone's creativity.
