Scrapbook Storage

I just bought the newest issue of Cloth Paper Scissors Studios. It is so fun to see other peoples work spaces and storage solutions.

My "studio" is my favorite room in the house. I love looking for functional but visual appealing storage solutions. What are some of your favorite solutions?

So what about it? How do you like to store your items? Do you need things to be out and open so you will use them? Do you like closed containers so that people don't even know you are storing your supplies? Vintage? Retro? It's fun to think about it, isn't it? Hope we have given you some ideas that you can use.

Matchbook Card Sketch

Happy Friday!! Today I want to share a card sketch and directions to make a matchbook style card. This was one of the cards we made in my Noteworthy Monograms class early last year. This style card is easy, fun and something just a little bit different. Here is the sketch and the directions. Samples from the Design Team are below.

You will need:
Card base cut to 4.25 x 11.5
Adhesive
Trimmer and scoring blade
Ribbon
Patterned paper
Ink pad
Monogram or other image

Directions:
1. Score your card in two places- first 1.25 inches from one end and then 4.75 inches from the other end.
2. Fold your card.
3. Cut a 4x4 inch square from patterned paper, ink the edges and adhere to the front of the card (place it high enough that the flap doesn’t cover it.)
4. From the same sheet of patterned paper, cut a 4x1 inch rectangle, ink the edges and adhere to the flap.
5. From a scrap of solid cardstock, cut a 3.5x3.5 inch square. Ink the edges and adhere on top of the 4x4 inch square.
6. From another scrap of cardstock, put a small strip to go across the two larger boxes. I had one already cut at about 1.25 x 3.75 inches. Ink the edges and add to the card.
7. Add a monogram (or other image) to the smaller strip on the card.
8. Tie a coordinating ribbon around the entire bottom flap to hold flap in place. I added a little bit of adhesive to secure the ribbon.

Italian Nachos

Every once in a while nachos sound great for dinner, not to mention they are really quick. Here's a great twist on the normal - so good, so easy and my family loves them!! And of course they are great party food - your guest will devour them!!!


Italian Nachos
(Modified Recipe from Judy Tucker)


Ingredients:

1/2 bag Tortilla Chips (scoops work the best because they catch all the goodies)

1 cup alfredo sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

2 cups bulk Italian sausage

1 small can sliced black olives

2 Roma tomatoes, diced

1/2 cup pepper rings (we end up using a lot more)

1/2 cup shredded parmesean cheese


Start by browning your Italian sausage, drain and set aside. Preheat oven to 375. Spread out your chips on a foil lined baking sheet. Next drizzle with alfredo sauce. Now layer on the crumbled Italian sausage and mozzarella cheese. Bake for 4 to 6 minutes or until cheese is melted. Remove from oven and top with tomatoes, olives, pepper rings and paremesean cheese. Enjoy!

Sketchapalooza 4
July 13th – August 10th

Back by popular demand! Do you like using sketches when creating layouts for your scrapbooks? Do challenges and prizes motivate you? Are you looking to do some "catching up" in your scrapbooks?
