Butterfly embellishments are very popular these days - and it's no wonder - they are an adorable addition to our projects. Of course there are punches and dies you can buy to make your own butterfly but before you run out and buy anything new why not try the circle punches or dies that you already have. That is what I used for the above butterfly, that and a pair of scissors. Isn't it cute?
I will show you how - to get started punch or cut out a circle shape from your favorite paper and grab a pair of scissors.
I used a Nestabilities petite scalloped circle die to get my shape.

Next you will want to fold your circle in half.

Using your scissors trim a portion of the circle off to form the top part or your top wing. I began cutting about a third of the way down.

Now do the same on the other side to get something like this:
If you unfold your shape this is what it should look like. Almost a butterfly!
Fold your circle back in half and trim a small triangular shape out of the middle (opposite of the fold) to form your butterfly.

Now unfold and you have a perfect little butterfly!

Wasn't that easy? Whatever size you have will work just fine, just look below.
Hope you enjoyed today's tidbit!
